Obviously, in order make a prototype, we should start from building a base structure that should hold everything tight.

The shape and structure chosen for this printer is pretty straight forward as you’ll see in the pictures bellow. Nevertheless, we encountered a handful of problems regarding  calibrations and precision issues while putting several parts together, we were amazed how the mechanical structure is the key player to achieve a successful prototype!

Moreover, the hardware we used is not state of the art, especially the threaded rods, they were iron not steel which caused them to bend, that was a major issue for the Z axis, where we used 2 bent rods which made the motors un-synchronized..

The challenging part was the elevator(the thing that moves along the Z axis), however, we came up with a brilliant design yet heavy to hold!
